Fund a Free Support Project
Sixpence Support UK CIC provides free information and practical support for people across the UK, particularly disabled people, carers, people experiencing mental-health difficulties and those facing financial hardship. Businesses, funders, councils, housing associations and other organisations can support our work by making a donation or funding a specific public-benefit project. A funded project could help us create accessible information, professionally checked guidance, captioned videos, downloadable resources and free letter or complaint support on an important subject.
What project funding can cover
Every project must be properly planned and fully costed. Funding may cover:
- Research and professional checking
- Project management and delivery time
- Website development and accessibility
- Written guides and downloadable resources
- Captioned information videos
- Free letter and complaint support
- Promotion and community awareness
- Administration, monitoring and reporting
- Maintenance and future information updates
- Specialist contractors where required
Sixpence Support UK will not accept arrangements that expect substantial professional work to be completed using unpaid or inadequately funded labour.
How it works
- An organisation contacts Sixpence Support UK with a proposed subject or community need.
- We assess whether the project would provide a genuine public benefit and fit our CIC’s purpose.
- We prepare a clear project plan, timescale and full cost.
- Nothing begins until the funding and written terms have been agreed.
- We deliver the approved work and provide suitable monitoring or reporting.
Our independence
Sixpence Support UK retains control over all information published on its website.
Funding cannot buy an endorsement, influence safety information, remove legitimate criticism or promote misleading claims. We only accept projects that provide a genuine benefit to the community.
All funding is paid to Sixpence Support UK CIC, used for the agreed not-for-profit purpose and recorded within the CIC’s accounts. Project-management and delivery costs must be reasonable, transparent and proportionate to the work involved.
A donation does not provide services or commercial benefits in return. If an organisation requests publicity, branding, project delivery or another benefit, the arrangement may be treated as sponsorship or a funded service and will require separate written terms.
