About Sixpence Support UK
Sixpence Support UK CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company providing free, plain-English information and practical support on health, wellbeing and everyday issues affecting people in the UK.
Sixpence Support UK does not charge visitors to access its information or request support. There are no subscriptions, membership fees or hidden charges.
Sixpence Support UK does not charge for its own information or support. Some independent organisations or services linked from the website may charge for what they provide. Always check directly before agreeing to a paid service.
We do not publish invented company registration numbers, addresses or telephone numbers. Where you need a formal point of contact, please email help@sixpencesupportuk.org.
Business advertising and the November offer
Business advertising is an optional paid package, separate from our free public information and support. It includes a listing on our advertising page and, where suitable, a listing clearly labelled Advertisement on a relevant existing topic page. Each listing includes your business name and logo, a short description of what you offer and a direct link to your website or a buyer page. Free business or supplier listings are not offered for new applications. Independently selected resource links, charities and support organisations are not paid placements.
The joining offer for November 2026 is £9.99 per month.
Join us this November for £9.99 per month. Keep that price for as long as you renew each month, even if our prices increase for new advertisers. If you cancel and later return, the rate available then will apply.
If your monthly renewals lapse and you later return, the rate available then will apply.
Each payment covers one month. We confirm renewals personally by email. There are no automatic payments and no obligation to renew.
Your booking confirmation records the agreed start and end dates and renewal deadline personally by email.
Listings are reviewed for suitability. Paid listings are clearly labelled Advertisement. There are no guaranteed sales, and a listing does not imply endorsement by Sixpence Support UK.
Advertising income helps Sixpence Support UK CIC maintain and develop its free community information, guidance and support resource.

Everything on this website, and every response produced by our AI assistants, is general information and practical guidance only. It is not medical, legal, financial, immigration or tax advice, and it is not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified professional.
- Health topics are written to help you understand a subject and know where to look next. Always speak to your GP, NHS 111, a pharmacist or another qualified clinician about your own symptoms and treatment.
- Benefits, legal and money topics summarise how things generally work. Rules change and individual circumstances differ. Please check with the relevant official body (for example DWP, HMRC, your local council) or a regulated adviser (for example Citizens Advice, a solicitor or an FCA-authorised firm) before making a decision.
Emergencies
Sixpence Support UK is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, seriously ill or injured, or at risk of harming themselves or someone else, call 999 straight away. For urgent but non-life-threatening health concerns, use NHS 111 (or 111.nhs.uk). Do not use our contact form, letter-support service or AI assistants to report an emergency — messages are not monitored around the clock.
External organisations and links
We link to the NHS, government departments, regulators and UK charities so that you can go straight to a trusted source. We do not control those websites and we cannot guarantee that their information, phone numbers, opening hours or availability are always accurate or up to date. Inclusion of an organisation is not an endorsement, and exclusion is not a criticism.
Letter and Complaint Support
Free Letter and Complaint Support is provided free of charge, on a best-efforts basis by volunteers. Sixpence Support UK will do its best to help you understand a letter, prepare a reply, or organise the facts for a formal complaint, but Sixpence Support UK cannot:
- guarantee a response within any particular time;
- provide legal, financial or debt advice;
- act as your legal representative, advocate or professional representative;
- investigate a complaint or make decisions on your behalf;
- take responsibility for the outcome of any application, appeal, complaint or dispute.
You review every draft and decide whether to send it. Where a matter needs specialist help, we may refer you to an appropriate qualified organisation.
Please do not send us original documents by post. Uploaded copies are handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
AI assistants
The Letter Writer, Benefits & Forms Helper, Health Info Guide and Translator use artificial intelligence models. AI can make mistakes, miss context and occasionally produce information that sounds confident but is wrong. Always check anything important — especially medical, legal, benefits or money matters — with a qualified human source before you rely on it or send it to a third party.
Do not enter passwords, full bank details, full National Insurance numbers or other highly sensitive identifiers into the assistants.
Accuracy and availability
We try hard to keep information accurate and current, but we make no warranty that the site or any service on it will be available without interruption, error-free, or free from viruses. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sixpence Support UK and its volunteers accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the site or its services. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use this website or its services to:
- upload unlawful, abusive, harassing or infringing material;
- submit information about another person without their consent;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the site.
We may withdraw access from anyone who misuses the site or its services.
