UK Experience Days and Adventure Activities

Discover memorable experience days across the UK—from driving on a famous racing circuit to helicopter sightseeing, skydiving and countryside activities. Find ideas for a day out, a personal challenge or a special gift.
Independent ideas, direct bookings
Sixpence Support UK is free to browse. External activities are usually paid and booked directly with providers. These links do not imply affiliation, endorsement or that we have inspected a venue. This is a selection of ideas, not an exhaustive UK directory.
Examples include England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland where verified. Not every activity is available in every nation.
Before you buy an experience or gift voucher
- Check licence, age and other participation requirements for the exact package, not just the venue.
- Confirm what you drive, ride or fly in, what is supplied and what you must bring. Passenger rides and spectating are not hands-on experiences.
- For your own car or bike, check preparation, noise rules, damage liability and separate track-use insurance.
- Read weather, cancellation and rescheduling terms, voucher expiry, permitted dates, exclusions and any extra charges.
- Ask how much time is actual participation and how much is briefing, waiting or travel. Current costs and duration belong to the selected provider package.
- Discuss accessibility, transfers, adapted equipment and support directly. Do not assume that disability excludes participation, or that an adaptation is available without checking.
Use each provider's own current participation information; this guide does not give personal health advice or decide whether an activity is suitable for you.
Gentler Experiences
For less speed, height or exertion, consider a painting session, a cookery demonstration, a tutored tasting without a vineyard walk, or a puzzle-focused escape room. Less physically demanding does not necessarily mean quiet: ask about group size, lighting, sound, seating, breaks and a time that suits you. None of these options is universally suitable.
- Masterpeace describes artist-led painting with projector help for the outline. Public classes currently use a waitlist; ask about the setting and private options.
- Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy lists demonstrations separately from cooking classes. Check whether you watch, cook or both, and ask about seating.
- Balfour lists tutored tastings as well as estate walks. Choose the format and discuss non-drinking participation and access directly.
- Breakout Manchester describes primarily mental puzzles, but its venues have stairs and no lift; ask about noise and themes before selecting a game.
Accessible Experiences
Entry to a venue is not the same as access to its activity. These are specific published arrangements and limitations, not promises about your booking. Explain your individual requirements before paying: transfers, seated participation, hand controls, assistance, toilets, sensory needs, breaks and companion arrangements may need separate discussion.
- Cardiff Pottery Workshops, Roath: the studio is ground-floor and described as wheelchair accessible, but its listed toilets are upstairs. Ask about wheel position, reach and the facilities you need.
- York’s Chocolate Story: guided-tour floors have lift access and an accessible toilet. Some workshops are listed in a stairs-only room. The VIP masterclass page and general access page give differing workshop information; confirm the exact room before booking.
- Todd’s Leap, Northern Ireland: its off-road driving page labels the activity wheelchair accessible. Ask how that works for your booking, whether you drive or ride, and what transfer or vehicle arrangements are possible. No individual adaptation has been confirmed here.
- Breakout Manchester: primarily mental puzzles do not remove the access barrier; its buildings have no wheelchair access or lift.
Own-car track days
Take your own car onto a racing circuit in an organised track-day session. This is participation, not a race entry or a spectator ticket. Novice sessions, instruction and open-pit-lane arrangements differ between organisers; choose a format that suits your experience rather than assuming all track days work alike.
West Sussex, England
Goodwood Motor Circuit
Own-car track days at the historic circuit.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Bring your car; check the event's helmet, clothing and vehicle requirements.
Official source supplied and corroborated in research; automated recheck was blocked by site protection.

Trackskills at Kirkistown
Trackskills organises own-car circuit days for experienced and novice drivers.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Bring your own car; contact the organiser about the next available date and briefing.
The displayed next-event date was already past when checked; future availability must be confirmed directly.
MSV: check the individual circuit
Car and bike circuit information is linked separately below. The car catalogue lists all six circuits. Bike information pages also exist for all six, but a page is not proof of a currently bookable bike event: use the bike calendar to confirm dates, especially for Bedford Autodrome.
Brands Hatch
Kent, England
Donington Park
East Midlands, England
Snetterton
Norfolk, England
Oulton Park
Cheshire, England
Cadwell Park
Lincolnshire, England
Bedford Autodrome
Bedfordshire, England
Before booking this activity
Ask about licence checks, vehicle condition, noise limits, helmets, briefing, passengers and instruction. Check track-use insurance separately: do not assume your normal road policy covers the event. Bring your own suitable car unless a separate hire arrangement is explicitly booked.
Provider-car driving experiences and passenger hot laps
A driving experience normally gives you time at the wheel of a provider's car, with the format depending on the vehicle and package. A passenger hot lap is different: a professional or instructor drives while you ride alongside. Supercars, classic cars and racing cars are not interchangeable offers; check the exact experience before buying a voucher.
West Sussex, England
Goodwood driving experiences
Official range of circuit and estate driving experiences, including classic-car options.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Book a named supplied-vehicle package; check driver versus passenger roles and current vehicles.
Automated recheck blocked by site protection; confirm the current package directly.
Northamptonshire, England
Silverstone Drive
Supercar and formula single-seater experiences listed in the official driving range.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider car for the selected package; vehicle and instructor arrangements are package-specific.
Fife, Scotland
Knockhill experiences
Racing-car, supercar and separately labelled passenger experiences.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider vehicles; choose driving or passenger participation explicitly.
Anglesey, Wales
Anglesey Performance Driving Centre
Single-seater driving experiences and sports-saloon courses at Trac Môn.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Course vehicles rather than an own-car track day; confirm available dates and course details.
Before booking this activity
Confirm which car is supplied, whether you drive or ride as a passenger, how much actual driving is included, licence requirements and any damage liability. Total time on site can include briefing and waiting rather than driving throughout.
Motorcycle track days and tuition
An own-bike track day lets you ride your motorcycle on a circuit under the organiser's rules. Riding groups and coaching vary. A supplied-bike training course is a separate booking and should explicitly include a motorcycle; a normal track-day ticket should not be assumed to include one.
England; circuit-specific links below
MSV Trackdays — motorcycles
Own-bike track days and novice information, separate from the car programme.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Bring your motorcycle and the protective kit required by the organiser; do not assume hire is included.
All six named circuits have official bike information pages; this does not establish a bookable bike session at every circuit. Check each calendar, particularly Bedford.
Fife, Scotland
Knockhill bike track days
Bike track days with separate novice guidance and event listings.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Own-bike sessions; check the bike-specific requirements rather than car rules.
Mallory Park, Leicestershire, England
BMW Motorrad Performance Academy
On-track performance riding training using the academy's BMW motorcycle fleet.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Course motorcycles supplied; confirm protective-kit requirements and what the chosen course includes.
The current website invites notifications for its next season; do not assume immediate course availability.
Before booking this activity
Confirm the licence accepted, riding-group suitability, bike preparation, noise limits, protective clothing and insurance arrangements. Ask whether tuition is included or extra and whether bike hire and protective-kit hire are actually available.
Karting
Karting offers an alternative to a full-sized driving experience, with indoor and outdoor tracks and practice or race formats. Arrive-and-drive means using a venue's kart; competitive owner-kart events are different. Junior, family and adult sessions can use different karts and layouts.
Milton Keynes, Surrey's Sandown Park and Tamworth, England
Daytona Motorsport
Outdoor karting with practice and race formats at its named venues.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue karts; confirm the selected kart category and clothing or helmet arrangements.
Multiple UK venues; choose a location on its official site
TeamSport
Indoor karting with adult, junior and group options varying by venue.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue karts; check required racewear, helmet and any separately charged items.
Fife, Scotland
Knockhill
Outdoor karting alongside the circuit's separate car and bike activities.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue karts, race suits, helmets, gloves and neck braces supplied; bring suitable flat, secure shoes.
Before booking this activity
Check the session's age and height rules, footwear, safety briefing, helmet and racewear arrangements, and whether a balaclava or other item costs extra. Compare actual track time, not just the advertised visit length.
Rally and off-road driving
Rally tuition can involve gravel stages and learning car control with an instructor. Off-road driving concentrates on uneven terrain and vehicle handling; an off-road safari or truck ride may instead be passenger-only. Make sure the booking offers the role and terrain you want.
Near Knighton, Powys, Wales
Phil Price Rally School
Forest-stage rally experiences with tuition and separately described high-speed rides.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Prepared rally cars supplied for the experience; check the selected course and driving allocation.
Silverstone, Northamptonshire, England

Supplied / bring / confirm: School vehicles for the chosen experience; confirm exact car or off-road vehicle.
Ballygawley, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
Todd's Leap
Off-road driving, plus separately labelled safari and truck rides.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue vehicles; driving and passenger activities are different bookings.
Before booking this activity
Ask which vehicle is supplied, how driving is shared, the licence requirements and whether a passenger ride is included or separate. Check clothing, weather arrangements and any damage excess before paying.
Skydiving, parachuting and indoor skydiving
Outdoor skydiving involves jumping from an aircraft under a training centre's procedures. Indoor skydiving uses a vertical wind tunnel: it is an activity in its own right, not a parachute jump. Choose between a tandem experience and a structured learn-to-skydive route rather than assuming beginners can jump independently.
Tandem, AFF and solo training are different
- Tandem skydiving means you are attached to a qualified tandem instructor, following a briefing and the centre’s preparation requirements.
- Accelerated Freefall (AFF) is a structured training route. Initially, instructors jump alongside you; you are not attached to them as in a tandem jump.
- Independent or solo parachuting requires structured training and progression. A beginner cannot simply book to jump alone without that training.
UK information and affiliated centre finder
British Skydiving — first jump
Explains tandem, Accelerated Freefall and static-line training routes; not itself an experience booking.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Choose a centre and confirm its supplied parachute system, instruction and clothing requirements.

Skydive Langar
Tandem skydives and separately booked AFF training.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Centre-arranged jump equipment and instruction; check your chosen route's requirements.

iFLY
Indoor wind-tunnel flying, not a jump from an aircraft.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Ask about supplied flight suit, helmet and goggles and required footwear for your package.
Before booking this activity
Use the centre's current participation requirements and discuss support or adaptation needs directly. Confirm briefing, equipment, weather rescheduling, video extras and how long to allow on site; avoid treating freefall time as the whole visit.
Helicopter sightseeing
A helicopter sightseeing flight is normally a passenger experience flown by a pilot. It is not the same as a helicopter lesson with time on the controls. Departure airfields, routes, shared seating and private-charter arrangements can differ even within one provider's range.
Regional departures listed by the provider, including English and Scottish options
Heli Air — rides by region
Passenger helicopter rides and sightseeing packages; select a named region and product.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Helicopter and pilot provided; confirm boarding and package arrangements.
Cumbernauld, Scotland
Heli Air — Glasgow-area enquiries
The official regional page describes helicopter rides and sightseeing from its Cumbernauld base.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider aircraft and pilot for a passenger ride; confirm the departure and boarding arrangements.
The page had no bookable products listed when checked. Enquire directly rather than assuming availability. This is the same provider as the regional catalogue above.
Before booking this activity
Confirm the actual departure point, sightseeing route, passenger seating and weather policy. Ask about boarding steps, assistance and any individual requirements directly; do not infer access from a photograph or the word 'accessible'.
Light aircraft trial lessons and gliding
A trial lesson introduces flying with an instructor in a provider's aircraft. A gliding experience uses a glider, launched according to the club's arrangements. Ask whether the booking is an introductory lesson, an air-experience flight or a longer course; it does not by itself award a pilot licence.
Airfield specified by the selected lesson, England
Heli Air — aeroplane lessons
Official aeroplane lesson catalogue, separate from helicopter rides.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider aircraft and instructor; confirm the named airfield and exact lesson content.
Kinross-shire, Scotland
Scottish Gliding Centre
Air-experience flights and introductory mini-courses with gliding instructors.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Club glider and instructor; confirm launch and clothing arrangements.
Its air-experience season was marked finished when checked; ask about the next season or available mini-courses.
UK flight-training information
UK Civil Aviation Authority
Guidance on finding a flight school and the distinction between training organisations; not a booking provider.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Use this information alongside the school's own lesson and aircraft details.
Before booking this activity
Confirm the aircraft, instructor, opportunity to use the controls, briefing and flight-time definition. Ask about weather postponement, cockpit access and support requirements. A club's seasonal experience flights and year-round courses can have different availability.
Hot-air balloons
A balloon flight is a passenger experience with a pilot and ground crew. Launch sites and flight direction depend on weather and operating conditions. The time you spend in the air is only part of the visit; briefing, preparation, landing and return transport can add to it.
Launch-site directory; choose a current named location
Virgin Balloon Flights
Passenger balloon flights with location and voucher options on the official site.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Operator balloon, basket and pilot; confirm clothing, boarding and return arrangements.
England, including Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire
Wickers World
Passenger balloon flights with different weekday and flexible voucher options.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Operator balloon and pilot; check the selected launch area and on-the-day instructions.
Before booking this activity
Ask about basket entry, standing or seating arrangements, help available and your particular needs. Check the voucher's permitted days, launch sites, expiry and rescheduling rules; a weather cancellation should not be confused with your own cancellation rights.
Clay shooting, archery and supervised target sports
Established shooting schools and activity centres offer supervised target activities such as clay shooting, archery and air-rifle sessions. These are distinct disciplines with different equipment and rules. Book the venue's instruction-led experience rather than assuming you can use a range unsupervised.
West Sussex, England
Goodwood — Trenches and Traps
Official combined estate experience; check the driving and clay-shooting elements of the current package.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Confirm the supplied vehicle, shooting equipment and tuition in the chosen booking.
Supplied official source; automated recheck blocked. No current price or duration asserted.
Auchterarder, Perthshire, Scotland
Gleneagles Shooting School
Clay shooting, air-rifle shooting and archery listed as separate pursuits.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Book the school's supervised activity; confirm the equipment and instruction included for that discipline.
Ballygawley, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
Todd's Leap — clay shooting
Instructor-led clay-pigeon shooting, rather than a spectator visit.
Supplied / bring / confirm: The official page states activity equipment is supplied; follow the venue's clothing instructions.
Ballygawley, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
Todd's Leap — archery
Instructor-led archery as a separate target-sport booking.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Ask about the supplied bow, arrows and any adaptation needed before booking.
Before booking this activity
Confirm age requirements, supervision, protective equipment and what ammunition or arrows the booking includes. Discuss stance, seating, reach and adaptations with the venue. Follow its safety briefing and never infer eligibility or access from another activity's rules.
Water adventures, sailing and powerboats
Try a supervised kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, surfing or rafting session, or a sailing taster. Our existing Family Water Sports and Activities guide brings together beginner options, finding instruction, inclusive sailing and water-safety information. It is useful beyond family outings too; follow the link rather than a second directory here.
Water activities, sailing and finding training centres →Before booking this activity
For powerboats, distinguish a hands-on training course from a skipper-led passenger ride. The existing water guide links RYA training information for finding centres. Ask about the exact activity, supplied equipment, swimming requirements, boarding, weather and individual support before paying.
Zip wires, climbing and adventure courses
Zip wires, climbing walls and ropes courses offer different kinds of challenge. A high zip line may use a harness; a low ropes course over water can work differently. Check the individual activity's safety system, supervision and physical layout rather than assuming one venue's rules apply everywhere.
Penrhyn Quarry, near Bethesda, Wales
Zip World — Velocity
A booked zip-wire adventure at the quarry, not just sightseeing from the ground.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue-managed safety system; confirm supplied harness and protective equipment and what to wear.
Near Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland
Foxlake — FoxFall
Low ropes course over water, finishing with a zip into the water; the official page says no safety harness is used.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Safety equipment and wetsuit included; bring closed-toe shoes that can get wet. Check the swimming requirement.
Ballygawley, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
Todd's Leap — zip lines
Instructor-briefed zip-line activity with a tower reached by steps.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue harness and safety briefing; confirm fit, footwear and the route to the launch tower.
Ballygawley, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
Todd's Leap — climbing options
Climbing wall and Clip 'n' Climb listed in the venue's activity guide.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Confirm the chosen climbing activity's supplied equipment, supervision and requirements.
Before booking this activity
Confirm harness fit, footwear, height or other participation rules and any swimming requirement. Ask about steps, transfers, adaptations and instructor support directly. Weather and rescue arrangements can affect which activities operate on the day.
Steam trains and railway experiences
A heritage railway can offer a footplate ride alongside the crew or supervised train driving. Watching from the cab is different from operating the locomotive: ask whether driving, firing or observation is included. An ordinary passenger journey is another, less hands-on, way to enjoy a railway day out.
Porthmadog, Gwynedd, Wales
Welsh Highland Heritage Railway
Steam and diesel driving experiences, shorter tasters and observer footplate rides on scheduled services are described separately.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Railway locomotive and crew; confirm clothing, footwear and protective equipment for your selected role.
Before booking this activity
Confirm the locomotive and role, cab steps, heat, standing, clothing and footwear. Operating needs may change the locomotive or date. Accessible passenger carriages do not imply an accessible footplate.
Heavy vehicle driving: tanks, trucks, diggers and tractors
Try supervised control of a tracked military vehicle, truck, excavator or farm tractor at a provider’s site. A tank passenger ride is not a driving booking; excavator operation is different from road driving. Recreational sessions are not professional training or a licence qualification.
Dundee area, Scotland
Tank Driving Scotland
Hands-on tracked military-vehicle driving, with separate crew and passenger rides.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider vehicles; confirm the machine and required clothing or protective kit.
England: named venues include Prestwold, Dunsfold, Elvington, Exeter and Great Tew
Everyman Racing — truck driving
Drive a Scania car transporter on a specialist course with an HGV instructor, including manoeuvring exercises; not just a passenger ride.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider truck and instructor; confirm the selected venue’s requirements and vehicle availability.
Cumnock, East Ayrshire, Scotland
Blackstone Clydesdales — Dig-a-Day
The farm’s Big Toy Experience offers excavator operation and tractor driving; confirm the combination you book.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Farm machinery; ask about cab steps, footwear and protective kit.
Before booking this activity
Confirm the exact machine, driving versus passenger role, shared time, cab access, participation requirements, protective equipment and damage liability. Do not assume all machines are included in one voucher.
Horse riding, countryside hacks and carriage rides
Beginner lessons introduce riding with instruction; hacks and treks follow outdoor routes. Faster hacks may be reserved for experienced riders, with separate beginner treks. Carriage outings can be passenger rides or assisted driving: choose the role you want. Our existing horse guide covers care and welfare rather than experience bookings.
Related guide: Horses, Ponies and Donkeys — care and welfare →Armoy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland
Sheans Horse Farm
Beginner and novice trekking, riding lessons and separate hacks for riders confident at canter.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider horses; confirm hat provision, footwear and the appropriate session.
Near Hay-on-Wye, Mid Wales

Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider horses and carriage; safety hat and hi-vis included. Confirm passenger arrangements and climbing on and off.
Before booking this activity
Describe your actual riding experience and support needs. Confirm horse matching, mounting, helmets, footwear, terrain, pace and weather terms. A carriage ride does not automatically avoid steps or transfers.
Scuba diving: beginner pool sessions and introductory dives
An instructor-led try dive introduces breathing underwater and using scuba equipment. A pool introduction differs from an open-water dive or certification course and does not qualify you to dive independently. Discuss the beginner format, environment, supervision and next steps with the dive centre.
Chertsey, Surrey, England
London School of Diving — Try Diving
PADI Discover Scuba Diving introduces beginners to equipment and their first underwater breaths with the dive team. Confirm the pool session and any separately offered progression.
Supplied / bring / confirm: All required scuba equipment included; bring swimming gear and a towel. Safety briefing and medical questionnaire required before participation.
Before booking this activity
Complete the provider’s safety briefing and screening honestly; this guide is not medical clearance. Ask about pool entry, changing and individual assistance, and whether the booking is pool-only or includes a separate introductory open-water dive.
Bungee jumping and abseiling
Bungee jumping uses a specialist elastic system; abseiling is a controlled rope descent with the operator’s instruction and equipment. A free-fall device, bridge swing or zip wire is a different activity. Select the exact experience rather than relying on a package name.
Killiecrankie, Perthshire, Scotland
Highland Fling Bungee
Bridge bungee jumping at Garry Bridge, with separately described swing experiences.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Operator-managed jump system and team; confirm the booking and current requirements.
Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England
UK Bungee Club — The Abyss at Magna
Indoor abseiling and bungee activities, distinct from The Drop free-fall experience and zip wire.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue activity system; confirm the abseil or jump equipment and briefing in your package.
Before booking this activity
Check participation requirements, harness fit, access route, clothing and weather or rescheduling terms. Discuss transfers and support directly; different activities at one venue can have different access arrangements.
Falconry, bird photography and wildlife encounters
Falconry can involve supervised bird-of-prey handling or a hawk walk. Photography sessions focus on pictures; animal encounters may mean observation or time alongside a keeper. Ask what contact is permitted, follow welfare rules and do not assume every animal can be touched or fed.
Ballyclare area, County Antrim, Northern Ireland; confirm the booked location
Falconry NI
Private hawk walks, full falconry experiences with several bird-of-prey species and photography days. Static displays and talks are offered separately.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider birds and falconer; confirm handling equipment. Bring a camera for photography.
Near Andover, Hampshire, England
Hawk Conservancy Trust — photography
Bird-of-prey photographic experiences, distinct from a standard visitor ticket or handling booking.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider-organised session; check which suits your camera and experience and what kit to bring.
Near Andover, Hampshire, England
Hawk Conservancy Trust — encounters
Named bird encounters include Meet the Burrowers alongside other bird-of-prey experiences; interaction depends on the booking.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider birds and team; confirm encounter instructions and individual access needs.
Before booking this activity
Confirm handling versus observation, animals involved, walking distances, camera requirements and support. Weather and animal welfare can change an encounter. Ask about seated observation or quieter arrangements rather than assuming these are included.
Creative workshops: pottery, glassblowing, jewellery and painting
A one-off creative session can make a memorable gift without a high-speed or height-based challenge. Our existing arts guide covers classes and community groups; these examples focus on hands-on experience bookings. Pottery, hot glass, metalworking and painting have different equipment and physical demands.
Arts, Crafts, Drama and Dance — finding classes and groups →Roath, Cardiff, Wales
Cardiff Pottery Workshops — Roath taster
Wheel-throwing taster sessions at the Roath pottery studio.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Studio facilities; confirm clay, firing and collection arrangements.
Ground-floor studio described as wheelchair accessible, but listed toilets are upstairs. Discuss working position and toilet requirements before booking.

Supplied / bring / confirm: Teaching studio with benches, tools and machinery; confirm material inclusion and which class is a one-off taster.
Displayed beginner and taster dates included earlier dates when checked; enquire about the next session rather than assuming a current booking.
London, England; confirm the studio for your selected class
Masterpeace — projector painting
Acrylic painting with artist coaching and a projector to help beginners outline a chosen photograph.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Painting equipment and materials provided; ask how to supply your chosen photograph.
Public classes currently direct visitors to a waitlist; private group enquiries are offered separately. Confirm dates and location before paying.
Before booking this activity
Ask about seated working, hand strength, bench height, heat, noise and breaks. Confirm materials, tools, instruction, firing or finishing, and collection or postage charges. You may not be able to take the finished item home that day.
Food and drink: cookery, chocolate making and vineyard tours
Cookery classes offer hands-on preparation; demonstrations focus on watching a chef. Chocolate workshops can include tempering, moulding or filling, while a visitor tour may include only a shorter making activity. Vineyard walks, winery tours and tutored tastings have different walking and age requirements.
Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy
Cookery classes, food-and-drink experiences and chef demonstrations; not every event involves hands-on cooking.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Academy kitchens for cooking classes; confirm ingredients, utensils and dietary arrangements.
A neurodivergent-children cooking event is listed as coming soon, not a currently bookable adapted session.
York, North Yorkshire, England
York’s Chocolate Story — VIP masterclass
Chocolate-making masterclasses involving tempering, moulding and filling, distinct from the guided visitor tour.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Workshop facilities; confirm ingredients, allergies and what you make or take away.
The VIP page says it is accessible, but the general access page places some masterclasses in a stairs-only room. Confirm your exact room and access before booking.
Staplehurst, Kent, England
Balfour Winery
Vineyard and winery tours alongside tutored tastings; outdoor walking varies by package.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Provider-led tour or tasting; bring outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear for vineyard walks. Ask about non-drinking participation.
Before booking this activity
Discuss allergies and dietary requirements first; substitutions are not guaranteed. Confirm cooking versus demonstration, standing or seating, ingredients and what is included. Ask about non-drinking options and plan travel safely after alcohol tastings.
Escape rooms and outdoor games
Escape rooms use puzzles and teamwork rather than driving or height-based challenges. Check the theme: enclosed spaces, darkness, sounds and time pressure may matter to you. Paintball uses impact projectiles; laser tag uses an electronic system without paintball impacts but can still involve movement, shouting and outdoor terrain.
Manchester, England
Breakout Manchester
Themed team puzzle challenges described as primarily mental rather than physical games.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Venue puzzle room; confirm the site, theme and support needs.
The provider states its Manchester buildings have no lift or wheelchair access. Newton Street has two flights of stairs; check the selected room’s lighting and sound.
Copthorne, West Sussex, England
Driver Wood Activity Centre
Paintball and laser tag, with an official activity-by-activity table describing movement, noise and other considerations.
Supplied / bring / confirm: Confirm markers, masks or electronic equipment supplied. Bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear.
Laser tag is listed as zero-impact but with variable exertion and shouting; paintball includes impact and loud noise. Discuss your group and the terrain.
Before booking this activity
Ask about room access, an immediate exit if needed, lighting, sound and movement. For outdoor games confirm terrain, age rules, protective kit, included ammunition and extra charges. Less impact does not automatically mean quiet, step-free or suitable for everyone.
Sources and availability
Official provider pages and UK aviation or skydiving information were reviewed on 10 October 2026. Links that blocked a direct automated recheck are identified beside their listings. Other pages confirmed the activity described, but that does not guarantee tickets, future dates or a particular vehicle are available.
The additional experience and access pages were checked on the same date. Older class dates, waitlists, coming-soon sessions and conflicting workshop access information are noted where relevant; none is presented as a guaranteed current booking.
No fixed prices or durations are quoted here. Confirm the current total cost, participation time and terms on the official details page before paying. Equipment marked for confirmation has not been assumed to be included.
The supplied montage is illustrative, not a photograph of a named venue or provider. Sixpence Support UK does not arrange bookings or guarantee activities or outcomes.
